Description

The data originate from national monitoring on the effects of the Finnish agri-environment support scheme (MYTVAS). 48 fresh meadows in Uusimaa and Pirkanmaa regions were selected for the visual documentation and monitoring of traditional rural biotopes. The meadows were included in a study of the Finnish Environment Institute of the effects of management on the vegetation and species composition in meadows. All the sites were classified as valuable habitats in the national inventory of traditional biotopes. Photographs were taken from the corners of the study plot of 50 x 50 m. An initial documentation covering all the meadows was carried out in summer 2001. Repeat documentations were done in 2003 - 2006 and 2011. The methods are described in the following publications: Heikkilä, T. 2007. Visuaalinen maisemaseuranta - Kultturimaiseman muutosten valokuvadokumentointi. Teksti. Musta taide & Taideteollinen korkeakoulu. 232 p. Heikkilä, T. 2007. Visuaalinen maisemaseuranta - Kultturimaiseman muutosten valokuvadokumentointi. Kuvat. Visual monitoring of Finnish landscapes.
