Taking biodiversity into account on Finnish farms: farmer survey in MYTVAS study areas, 2002
View DatasetDescription
The data originate from national monitoring on the effects of the Finnish agri-environment support scheme (MYTVAS). A farmer survey was used to find out, how biodiversity is taken into account on ordinary Finnish farms. A questionnaire was posted to 601 farmers in four regions, of which 220 (37 %) answered. Collected data include information on e. g. agri-environmental measures, habitats of high biodiversity value, different farm operations affecting biodiversity, and farmers' knowledge on biodiversity management. The methods are described in the following publication: Kuussaari, M., Tiainen, J., Helenius, J., Hietala-Koivu, R. & Heliölä, J. (eds.) 2004. Maatalouden ympäristötuen merkitys luonnon monimuotoisuudelle ja maisemalle: MYTVAS-seurantatutkimus 2000 - 2003. (Significance of the Finnish agri-environment support scheme for biodiversity and landscape: Results of the MYTVAS project 2000-2003, in Finnish) Suomen ympäristö 709. Suomen ympäristökeskus. 212 p.
