Description
Using the multidrug-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii strain Ab25 isolated from the second hospital of Nanjing as the host bacterium, a bacteriophage was isolated from hospital wastewater and named P425.Enriched and purified phage P425 was used for DNA extraction, which was then sent to Shanghai Parsonage Bio-technology Co. , Ltd. for whole-genome sequencing. The libraries were sequenced using paired-end (PE) sequencing on the Illumina NovaSeq sequencing platform. The sequencing data, after removal of adapter sequences, was de novo assembled using A5-MiSeq and SPAdes. This bacteriophage is a newly discovered phage with a broad host range that targets Acinetobacter baumannii, primarily used for research into potential therapeutic agents against drug-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii. The data content is the genome sequence of the bacteriophage P425 of Acinetobacter baumannii. In the data naming, P425 is the name of the bacteriophage, and .fasta represents the format. This data can be used as a candidate strain analysis study for novel phage therapy research and phage evolution or comparative genomics research, providing new resources for combating multidrug-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii.
