The survey "Living of Living Among Immigrants in Norway, 2016" is carried out by Statistics Norway (SSB). Equivalent surveys were conducted in 1983, 1996 and 2005/2006. The survey was funded by the ministry responsible for the integration policy in Norway; the Norwegian Ministry of Children and Equality in the beginning of the project and the Ministry of Justice and Public Security from April 2016. The main purpose of the survey was to gain knowledge about the living conditions of immigrants and their Norwegian-born children in Norway. It is also important to make eventual comparisons between immigrants and the total population possible. The sample for the survey consists of immigrants aged 16-74 with at least two years residence in Norway, with background from Poland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo,Turkey, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Eritrea and Somalia. Themes in the survey are house and housing conditions, labor and labor conditions, unpaid labor and volunteer work, skills in Norwegian, social contact with family and friends, background in country of origin, transnational relations, economic space, health, discrimination, citizenship, attitudes and values, trust and sense of belonging.
