OverviewEach .nc file contains surface type density (i.e. the detected densities of lead, floe and ambiguous targets) derived from CryoSat-2 or ICESat-2Percentage densities are provided on a 5 km square Polar Stereographic gridThe densities are averaged for the sea ice growth season only (October-April), from October 2019 to April 2023CryoSat-2 Products The CryoSat-2 products are derived from standard (densities_CPOM.nc) or fully-focused SAR (densities_FFSAR.nc) processing ICESat-2 ProductsThe ICESat-2 products are derived from ATL07 sea ice surface height data (densities_ATL07.nc) or ATL10 sea ice freeboard data (densities_ATL10.nc)densities_ATL07.nc has two versions for each surface type; “both” where specular and dark leads are treated as lead, and “spec” where only specular leads are treated as lead
