Description

This public dataset accompanies the boosted $bc$-tagging study presented in the paper:“Novel $|V_{cb}|$ extraction method via boosted $bc$-tagging with in-situ calibration”, arXiv:2503.00118.The associated code can be found at this URL:https://github.com/PKU-Hep-Group/boosted-wcbProduction DetailsThe dataset was generated using the following software tools:MadGraph5_aMC@NLO v2.9.18 for LO matrix element calculation in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}=13$ TeVLHAPDF 6 with NNPDF3.1 NNLO PDF setsPYTHIA 8.3 for parton showeringDELPHES 3.5 for fast simulation of detector response of object reconstruction, including:FastJet package for jet clusteringJetClass-II Delphes cards (incorporating track smearing + pileup emulation + pileup mitigation via PUPPI)Sophon and SophonAK4 models to perform realistic jet tagging of both small- and large-radius (R=0.4 and 0.8) jets (See details in SophonAK4’s Hugging Face repository)Dataset Information1. Boosted channelDatasets in the trig1L_1fj directory are used for boosted-topology analyses. The derived n-tuples contain events passing the following selections:Trigger: ≥1 isolated electron or muon(p_T > 24 GeV for electrons, >32 GeV for muons; with η and isolation cuts)Preselection: ≥1 boosted jet (R = 0.8) present in the eventAnalysis selection: ≥1 boosted jet (R = 0.8) not overlapping with the triggered lepton (ΔR(jet, lepton) > 0.8)(Events failing this are included as empty entries for uniformity.)The generator-level configuration is optimized to target the boosted phase space without introducing phase-space bias.Included samples:TTbarSL_FJ_ntuple_part{1,2,3} — SM $t\bar{t}$ with semi-leptonic decaysTTbarSL_WToCB_FJ — SM $t\bar{t}$ with $W \to bc$ hadronic decaysWJetsToLNu_HT150* — SM W+jets with leptonic decaysTTbarSL_TToBHpmToBBC_MH*FJ — BSM $t\bar{t} \to bH^\pm bW^\mp$, with $H^\pm \to bc$, fixed $m{H^\pm}$ at 60, 70, ..., 160 GeVTTbarSL_TToBHpmToBBC_VarMH_FJ — Same as above, with $m_{H^\pm}$ uniformly sampled within 50–170 GeV2. Resolved channelDatasets in the trig1L_4jets directory support resolved-topology analyses. n-tuples contain events passing:Trigger: same single-lepton trigger as in the boosted channelPreselection: ≥4 jets (R = 0.4) with p_T > 20 GeVAnalysis selection: ≥4 jets (R = 0.4) with p_T > 20 GeV and ΔR(jet, lepton) > 0.4(Non-passing events are included as empty entries.)Similarly, the generator-level configuration is optimized to target the multijet phase space without introducing phase-space bias.Included samples:TTbarSL — SM $t\bar{t}$, semi-leptonicTWSL — SM single-top $tW$, semi-leptonicWWSL — SM diboson $WW$, semi-leptonic*_WToCB — Variants with hadronic $W \to bc$ decaysWJetsToLNuPlus2J_Delphes4J — SM W+jets with leptonic W decay3. Inclusive samples (for boosted channel)Datasets in the trig1L directory contain events passing only the trigger requirement:Trigger: same as aboveAnalysis selection: ≥1 boosted jet (R = 0.8) with ΔR(jet, lepton) > 0.8(Non-passing events are included as empty entries.)Included samples:TWSLWWSLTWSL_WToCB, WWSL_WToCB(Same definitions as above)UsageDetailed information is available in the GitHub repository: https://github.com/PKU-Hep-Group/boosted-wcb.
