Description
This study focuses on analyzing the current situation and the development characteristics of phonological awareness of hearing-impaired infants in China aged 3-5,with profound hearing loss using cochlear implants, in comparison to their normal hearing infants with the same age. The phonological awareness development situation in hearing-impaired infants will be confirmed by comparing with normal hearing infants who are the same ages and then, with the development characteristics of normal hearing infants as the reference, identify the phonological awareness development characteristics of hearing-impaired infants. As the results, the current situation and the development characteristics of phonological awareness persist in hearing-impaired infants with profound hearing loss compared to their peers with typical hearing. The findings indicate that the phonological awareness of hearing-impaired infants remained at a low level compared to that of infants with normal hearing, it is suggested that they still show developmental progress. Moving forward, it will be necessary to improve the precision of the target children's evaluation scales for more detailed analysis.
