Geochemical analyses of bulk rock, minerals, and glasses from Ventotene volcano (Tyrrhenian Sea, central Italy)
Description
We present chemical data on bulk rock, minerals, groundmass glasses, and olivine- and clinopyroxene-hosted melt inclusions of juvenile pumice clasts recovered from the pure Plinian deposits of Cala Battaglia eruptions (UCB) and from the deposits of Parata Grande caldera-forming eruption (PGT) of Ventotene Volcano volcano (Tyrrhenian Sea, central Italy). We also present EMP data of glasses and minerals produced by experiments using a trachyte from UCB as starting material. Taken together, these data allow us to constrain the deep and shallow pre-eruptive magmatic systems of Ventotene, feeding pure Plinian and decompression caldera-forming events, respectively.
