Bathymetric map of Lido di Dante coastal area (Ravenna, Italy) of October 4, 2020
View DatasetDescription
This processed bathymetry was aquired with the use of single-beam echosounder (SBE) sonar data collected in October 4, 2020 as a part of bathymetric monitoring of evolution of coastal area carried out by Proambiente Scrl and CNR ISMAR (Bologna, Italy) in the frame of TAO project. The bathymetry data was acquired using an ASV (autonomous surface vehicle), called OpenSWAP (Stanghellini et al., 2020), equipped by an SBE operating at 200 kHz coupled with a double antenna GNSS system with WAAS/EGNOS enabled D-GPS, providing true heading and position for navigation and data positioning. This acquisition leg was part of a log-term monitoring of the seabed evolution, so the navigation lines were kept the same for all data acquisition campaigns. The use of the ASV OpenSWAP allowed for retracing the same routes with a maximum error contained within +/- 30 cm under reasonable sea conditions (Stanghellini et al., 2020). The collected data was finally elaborated with GMT Generic Mapping Tool (Wessel et al., 2019) with its nearneighbor and grdfilter algorithms to obtain the shared data. The grid are represented in geographical coordinates LAT, LON, with a decimal degree format, the datum is in WGS84 (EPSG:4326). These bathymetry grids are provided in netCDF grid format and the relative geoTIFF file rapresenting the bathymetry of the area.
