Description

The data are SEM-EDS and EPMA analyses of anhydrous lithic clasts in the Cold Bokkeveld CM2 carbonaceous chondrite . They are divided by mineral (olivine, clinopyroxene, plagioclase feldspar, nepheline, merrillite, spinel-group oxide, and Fe-sulphide (pyrrhotite, troilite, pentlandite)) and the clast containing that mineral (526-A to 526-W are clasts in polished block P19526, and 527-A to 527-AK are clasts in polished block P19527). Also listed are nanoSIMS measurements of the oxygen isotopic composition of clast olivine grains, again divided by the clast analysed. These data are primarily used to: (i) evaluate the affinity of the clasts to known chondrite groups and to anhydrous lithic clasts in the CM meteorites GRV 021536, Murchison, and Shidian, (ii) to assess the degree of metamorphic equilibration of the clasts, and (iii) to calculate metamorphic equilibration via the olivine-spinel geothermometer.
