Every grade has a garden by its own air raid shelter. Lettuce, tomatoes, corn, string beans, lima beans, parsley, beets, carrots, cabbage, swiss chard, and eggplant have been planted. Already we have eaten lettuce, radishes, carrots, tomatoes and string beans that the children planted in February."
