This repository contains the dataset and Python analysis script supporting the findings of the study titled “Beyond the Big Five: Linking Personality Traits, Familial Relationships, and Life Satisfaction among Iranian University Students.”Abstract of the Study:This research investigates the relationships between the Big Five personality traits (Neuroticism, Extraversion, Openness, Agreeableness, and Conscientiousness), life satisfaction, and the perceived quality of parental relationships among a sample of 55 Iranian university students. Data were collected via self-report questionnaires, including the Big Five Inventory (BFI), the Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS), and a custom questionnaire on parental relationship quality. Statistical analyses, including ANOVA, Pearson correlations, and regression models, were performed to explore the associations between these variables.Contents of the Repository:dataset.csv: The primary dataset in CSV format. This file contains anonymized participant data, including demographics (gender, age, field of study), scores for the five personality traits, the total score for the Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS), and the score for perceived parental relationship quality.analysis_script.py: The Python script used for all statistical analyses reported in the manuscript. The script requires libraries such as Pandas, Statsmodels, and Matplotlib to run. It covers descriptive statistics, ANOVA, Tukey’s HSD post-hoc tests, Pearson correlations, and multiple regression analyses.README.txt: A text file providing detailed instructions on the dataset variables and how to run the Python analysis script. This dataset is shared to promote transparency, reproducibility, and further scientific inquiry in the fields of personality psychology and family studies.
