Riparian vegetation and channel width data for analysis of 'disrupted geomorphic and biotic stream connectivity in paraglacial regions'

Polvi, Lina E.;Lind, Lovisa

Description

These data show (1) riparian vegetation inventories and (2) remote geomorphic characterization of reaches along two stream systems: Bjurbäcken and Hjuksån in northern Sweden. The riparian vegetation shows presence/absence data of all vascular plants along the riparian zones in each reach where a new process domain (rapid, flats, lake) starts. The geomorphic characterization includes the following metrics at 50 m intervals downstream along the mainstem of the two stream systems: channel width, drainage area, distance from upstream lake, and surficial geology type. For one of the catchments, some reaches did not have a surficial geology type classified at the reach location (or was 'water'); for these, a separate classification was done 750 m from the reach point.
