Description

Drawing on the research findings and case studies in Central and Eastern Europe, the project aims to propose a new theory of social contract that focuses on the efficiency of the state and state institutions, whose primary function is to enhance the welfare of its members. To this end, the project intends to assess the effectiveness or ineffectiveness of constitutional institutions and procedures that should prevent or redress acts of injustice or inequality, as well as the effectiveness of remedies against failures of the state to fulfill its positive obligations.
