We compiled a database on the temporal yield stability of cereal–cereal and cereal–legume intercropping systems based on a systematic literature search. The dataset contains 513 records from 94 field experiments reported in 45 peer-reviewed publications retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection and China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI). Each record includes annual yield data for both sole crops and their corresponding intercrops, together with information on crop species, location, years of experimentation, nitrogen input, and other management details when available. The database provides a unique resource for evaluating inter-annual yield variability and the effects of species combinations and nitrogen fertilization on intercropping performance.
