Net ecosystem productivity of grasslands: A chamber-based global database
View DatasetDescription
Net ecosystem productivity (NEP) of global grasslands, one of the most significant determinants of the global carbon budget, provides profound insight into the carbon sink of global grasslands. Here, we compiled a global grassland NEP database derived from chamber measurements from 227 publications (1992–2022), including 275 sites from 30 countries. Our database can be utilized for understanding the spatio-temporal pattern and potential mechanisms of grassland NEP, evaluating grassland carbon sinks under future global change scenarios, and validating machine-learning models and process-based model estimations of global grassland carbon fluxes.
