Mock Metagenomic Illumina Datafiles

40 M paired end reads were constructed from 25 reference microbial genomes (including associated plasmids). The reads were either left as paired ends or merged to form longer, continuous reads. The full datasets (either paired or merged) were digitally normalized. They are provided for the purpose of benchmarking assemblers, testing annotation procedures, etc. See table for details on full dataset.
