Description

This series of experiments investigates whether intentionally removing information from working memory affects how well people remember that information over the long term, and whether people can - when instructed - remove information from working memory while keeping it in long-term memory, or vice versa. The experiments use an item-wise directed-forgetting paradigm for tests of working memory, followed by a test of long-term memory for the stimuli (words) of the working-memory test.
