This data collection contains returns for allelections for 3,143 counties of 50 states of the United Statesto the offices of president, senator and representative, and governor, ecological data drawn from various United Statescensuses from 1947 to 1965, and selected data from the 1952National Council of Churches Survey of church membership. The dataare organized in three parts: (1) election returns and ecologicaldata in raw form, (2) percentagized party votes and ecologicaldata, and (3) series of derived measures and additionalcomputations. Data on election returns include votes for theDemocratic and Republican parties, as well as for other minorparties for the period 1949-1968.
