"This study investigates lumbar compression during both static and dynamic conditions using a 3D motion capture system. This data set contains the barefoot and high-heeled walking data of 10 healthy female participants. In this study, based on the IOR full-body marker set, markers were placed on participants, and kinetic and kinematic data were collected for each participant. Marker data from the lumbar region are processed to calculate displacement-based lumbar compression and lumbar compression angles in MATLAB across different subphases of the stance phase of the gait cycle. Participants walked on a force plate integrated with a 3D motion capture system while wearing both barefoot and high-heeled conditions. The consolidated report (joint kinetics and kinematics at the hip, knee, and ankle, and ground reaction force) of all participants for barefoot and high-heeled walking, generated using QTM software, is provided in PDF format. Also, the coordinates of markers placed in the lumbar region are given as a text file. Gait events were identified from ground reaction forces, and marker coordinates for each event were exported for further analysis. The study ultimately compares lumbar compression between barefoot and high-heeled walking to understand how footwear affects spinal motion. A brief procedure is given in the README document. "
