Application of Optical Reflecting Prism for Better Ergonomics Posture in Dermatologic Surgery.

Bao, Chengbei;xie, yifan

Description

This video demonstrates our innovative technique using a clip-on optical reflecting prism during dermatologic surgery. By redirecting the wearer's line of sight through optical principles, the prism eliminates the need for the surgeon to bend the neck downward when directly viewing the inferior surgical field. Instead, it was able to clearly observe the anteroinferior visual field while maintaining a neutral frontal head position in direct line of sight. This simple and ergonomic intervention is effective in reducing stress on the neck musculoskeletal system and is expected to reduce the incidence of neck-related MSDS.
