Description
This study contributes to the growing body of research on statistics education by examining the influences among perceived usefulness of statistics, interest in statistics, and self-confidence in statistical knowledge, statistical literacy, and the statistical literacy teaching efficacy beliefs of pre-service mathematics teachers via structural equation modelling. The results highlight the complex nature of affective variables in shaping both the statistical literacy and statistical teaching efficacy among future mathematics teachers. Given the increasing global emphasis on statistical literacy and the need for mathematically competent and pedagogically prepared teachers, the study provides timely evidence that could inform teacher education programmes, curriculum development, and professional training initiatives.
