Qualitative research data

Alhashem, Anwar

Description

Car accidents, a leading cause of child fatalities in Saudi Arabia, can be significantly reduced by proper usage of car seats. The Montessori method offers a relevant framework for car seat safety education. This study explores how Saudi Arabian teachers integrate Montessori principles into car seat safety lessons for young children. A qualitative study (June 2023–June 2024) with two female Montessori teachers of children aged 3–6 included interviews, observations, and visual documentation. Results show Montessori principles effectively engaged children, promoting independent and responsible car seat behaviour. The Ministry of Education should support integration through curriculum inclusion, training, and necessary resources.
