Description

The rapid development of tandem photovoltaics is mainly propelled by advances in the halide perovskite top cells. However, the material scarcity, toxicity, and limited chemical and structural instability hider their widespread industrial implementation. For this reason certain poly-chalcogenide compounds have emerged as potential alternatives, while comprising abundant and non-toxic elements with overall higher stability. Here we synthesize quaternary chalcogenide Cu2FeSn3S8 thin films using Pulsed Laser Deposition followed by post-deposition annealing in nitrogen atmosphere. The resulting products are characterized by X-ray diffraction and Raman spectroscopy.
