Description

This dataset provides genome annotation resources for two bromeliad species, Vriesea longistaminea and Vriesea minarum, both endemic to the Brazilian Iron Quadrangle. These species are associated with rocky outcrop environments and represent important models for studying adaptation and conservation in highly specialized ecosystems. The dataset includes structural and functional genome annotations derived from chromosome-scale genome assemblies. Gene models were predicted using BRAKER3 with RNA-seq evidence and soft-masked genomes, and subsequently processed to retain the longest isoform per gene. Functional annotation was assigned based on homology searches and domain identification. For each species, the following files are provided:A GFF3 file containing structural and functional genome annotationsA protein sequence file (.faa) corresponding to predicted gene modelsA coding sequence file (.fna) with nucleotide sequences of predicted CDSA tabular file summarizing functional annotations for each geneThese data are intended to support downstream analyses including comparative genomics, gene family evolution, functional characterization, and conservation genomics studies in Bromeliaceae and other plant groups. All files are organized by species and formatted for immediate reuse.
