FtsK phylogenetic dataset — sequence alignment and nFtsK region analysis in Mycobacteriaceae
Description
Item 1 (FtsK_blast_ref_226_aligned.fasta)
Multiple sequence alignment of FtsK (DNA translocase) from 226 Mycobacteriaceae species and one outgroup (Streptomyces coelicolor A3(2)), generated using MAFFT v7.526 (FFT-NS-2 algorithm). Sequences were retrieved from NCBI via BLASTp using M. smegmatis mc²155 FtsK (ABK76147.1) as query. Dataset includes 107 slow-growing and 118 fast-growing mycobacterial species. Seven sequences with truncations or low identity were excluded prior to alignment. Alignment length: 1407 aa. Generated for phylogenetic analysis and nFtsK conservation study.
Item 2 (nFtsK_sequences.fasta)
Unaligned nFtsK sequences extracted from the FtsK MSA (224 sequences, MAFFT FFT-NS-2) for 224 Mycobacteriaceae species. The nFtsK region was defined as the N-terminal sequence preceding the first transmembrane helix (TM1) of FtsK, determined by Kyte-Doolittle hydrophobicity analysis (window = 19 aa) of M. smegmatis mc²155 FtsK (ABK76147.1; residues 1–151, alignment position 288). Dataset comprises 107 slow-growing and 117 fast-growing species. Generated for nFtsK length and conservation analysis.
