Dataset: Seedlings and saplings density data for impounded and natural regeneration mangroves in Sanibel, Florida (USA)

Description

This dataset contains seedlings and saplings count data obtained from three 1-meter radius subplots established within main forest structure inventory plots (see dataset by Blanchard et al. in this collection) distributed across impounded and natural regeneration mangroves in Sanibel, FL (USA). Within each subplot, seedlings and saplings < 100 cm in height and < 2.5 cm in diameter were counted within the following height classes: < 50 cm, 50-100 cm, and > 100 cm. This data were collected in Sep/2025 for a diagnostic assessment to inform a restoration plan using tidal reconnection and use of dredged sediments to raise soil surface elevation.
