Description

In a prospective longitudinal study, women (N = 227) completed the Disgust Scale-Revised (DS-R) and Three Domains of Disgust Scale (TDDS) in the third trimester of pregnancy and again later postpartum (mean = 7 weeks). They also provided information about breastfeeding (not at all/partially/fully) at hospital discharge and later postpartum. Then we tested the effect of disgust on breastfeeding using ordinal regression analysis adjusted for maternal age, parity, gestational hypertension, gestational diabetes, gestational age at birth, delivery mode, attachment to the breast, and infant’s age.
