Experimental Dataset: 40 kWth Pulverized Torrefied Biomass and Lignite Flames under Atmospheric and Oxy-fuel Conditions

The present dataset contains experimental results conducted on a series of 40 kWth aerodynamically stabilized pulverized torrefied biomass and lignite coal flames. Results and the experimental conditions have been described in the journal article "Flow Pattern and Behavior of 40 kWth Pulverized Torrefied Biomass Flames under Atmospheric and Oxy-fuel Conditions" from the present authors. This dataset is composed of experimental results from four different studied test flames, named: A21-TB, O27-TB, A21-L and O27-L. Two torrefied biomass flames, under conventional and oxy-fuel conditions, and two similar coal (lignite) conditions. Data from three different types of measurements are presented: mean and RMS, 2D velocity profiles from Laser Doppler anemometry (LDA); local gas composition (point measurements) by employing a sampling probe and Fourier-transform infrared absorption spectrometry (FTIR); Wall-incident flame radiation employing a thermopile mounted at different locations along the inner walls of the combustion chamber.
