Materials Data on Sm7Pt3 by Materials Project
View DatasetDescription
Sm7Pt3 crystallizes in the orthorhombic Cmc2_1 space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are five inequivalent Sm sites. In the first Sm site, Sm is bonded in a 3-coordinate geometry to three Pt atoms. All Sm–Pt bond lengths are 2.93 Å. In the second Sm site, Sm is bonded in a 3-coordinate geometry to three Pt atoms. There are two shorter (2.94 Å) and one longer (3.03 Å) Sm–Pt bond lengths. In the third Sm site, Sm is bonded in a 3-coordinate geometry to three Pt atoms. There are two shorter (2.94 Å) and one longer (3.04 Å) Sm–Pt bond lengths. In the fourth Sm site, Sm is bonded in a distorted water-like geometry to two equivalent Pt atoms. Both Sm–Pt bond lengths are 2.90 Å. In the fifth Sm site, Sm is bonded in a distorted water-like geometry to two Pt atoms. There are one shorter (2.89 Å) and one longer (2.90 Å) Sm–Pt bond lengths. There are two inequivalent Pt sites. In the first Pt site, Pt is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to six Sm atoms. In the second Pt site, Pt is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to six Sm atoms.
