Description

CaHg2Tl crystallizes in the orthorhombic Immm space group. The structure is one-dimensional and consists of two CaHg2Tl ribbons oriented in the (0, 1, 0) direction. Ca is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent Hg atoms. Both Ca–Hg bond lengths are 3.36 Å. Hg is bonded in a linear geometry to one Ca and one Tl atom. The Hg–Tl bond length is 3.27 Å. Tl is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent Hg atoms.
