Description

EuZnSn crystallizes in the monoclinic C2/m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Eu is bonded in a 12-coordinate geometry to six equivalent Zn and six equivalent Sn atoms. There are a spread of Eu–Zn bond distances ranging from 3.25–3.52 Å. There are a spread of Eu–Sn bond distances ranging from 3.32–3.55 Å. Zn is bonded in a 10-coordinate geometry to six equivalent Eu, one Zn, and three equivalent Sn atoms. The Zn–Zn bond length is 2.64 Å. There are two shorter (2.81 Å) and one longer (3.03 Å) Zn–Sn bond lengths. Sn is bonded in a 10-coordinate geometry to six equivalent Eu, three equivalent Zn, and one Sn atom. The Sn–Sn bond length is 2.96 Å.
