Data for: A small specimen testing method to determine stress-strain relationship and strength of metallic materials
View DatasetDescription
The uniaxial stress-strain relations and strength of materials are basic mechanical properties of materials and they are vital to mechanical analysis, optimal design and safety evaluation of engineering structures. In this paper, A stable uniaxial tensile testing method is proposed for small specimens with a 1 mm length in parallel section that can obtain stress-strain relations and strength of metallic materials. By designing a simple installation fixture, a series of uniaxial tensile tests have been performed with small specimens. It shows that the stress-strain relations and strength obtained by the small specimen testing method are consistent with those from standard round bar specimens.
