German-French Parallel Corpus of the Swiss Federal Gazette (19c.-20c.)
View DatasetDescription
The Federal Gazette is a journal published by the Swiss Government. The journal is a political newsletter concerned with resolutions and laws of the Swiss Confederation. First published in 1849, briefly after the foundation of the Swiss Federal State, it is provided in the following official languages: German ("Bundesblatt"), French ("Feuille fédérale"), and Italian ("Foglio federale"). The present parallel corpus covers the period between 1849 and 2017 for French and German.
The alignment of articles across languages was done using an improved version of an UZH-ICL in-house script written by Chantal Amrhein, which leverages the Bleualign for sentences to the level of documents.
