Description

Ensemble simulations from the weather and climate model COSMO. The data has been used for model verification cases in the corresponding paper. The data is partitioned into two parts: 10d_gpu_cpu_sp_diff.tar:
10-day ensembles produced with COSMO 5.09:
- GPU version using double precision (gpu_dycore)
- CPU version using double precision (cpu_nodycore)
- GPU version using single precision (gpu_dycore_sp)
- GPU version using double precision and a tiny amount of additional explicit diffusion (gpu_dycore_diff)
10d_update.tar:
10-day ensembles produced with COSMO 5.05 before and after a major system update of the underlying supercomputer Piz Daint:
- GPU version before update (before_update)
- GPU version after update (after_update) Each folder in the respective .tar files contains 100 or 50 ensemble members (stored as NetCDF file) that have been produced with the corresponding executable/configuration.
