Description

This dataset presents elemental intensities (Ca), elemental ratios (Rb/Sr), elemental concentrations (total organic carbon, TOC, total inorganic carbon, TIC), and stable isotope (for C and O) geochemical data of a 47,800 years long sediment record from Lake Trasimeno (Italy). Elemental intensities and ratios were analysed by means of X-ray fluorescence core scanning. TOC and and TIC were determined as released CO2 after combustion. Stable isotope composition for C and O were measured on endogenic carbonates by means of isotope ratio mass spectrometry. The data provides insights in carbonate mineralogy, lake level fluctuations, and palaeoclimate and hydrologic change at Lake Trasimeno during the Lateglacial and Holocene.
